Looking Your Best for the Best Search Engine Ranking

If you are using a template or stock design to represent your
business, you may not only be doing your brand and image a disservice
but also you could be hindering your search engine optimization efforts.

Does the Google Bot have eyes?

Well, not exactly but close. While the Google Bot may not look at
poor color choices, ugly pictures, or bright red text on a bright
yellow button, it does look at formats. A professional designer will
make sure that your web site is formatted correctly and can also
improve the Google Bots navigation of your site.

Often times, web sites can look more attractive with animated roll over effects on menus and icons. A trained search engine optimization
friendly designer will be able to possibly implement those same effects
while keeping your site easy to navigate by Google Bots and visitors
alike.

Giving and Getting Good Phone

I wish I was more flexible!

I hear that all the time. It's tough out there and we all need to nurture what’s working well, remove what isn’t, and have tools to help us determine which is which.

I suspect many of your organizations, much like mine, no longer employ eight or so staff. You no longer know every deal intimately. No longer does every conversation between your company and your prospects occur within earshot. You are now in the in between world of Macro and Micro, and require both levels at once. You need effective executive training, business development, data analysis and staff management skills to go along with your entrepreneurial flair.

The current current economyis unfortunately against you. It many instances you don’t have enough information to choose what and who are performing, but you need to and you need to do it yesterday.

You wish you could bottle all customer contacts and analyze how they went and what could be done better. You don’t have enough time to review everything and need summaries! Ironically, you also need detail because as soon as something in the summary catches your attention you want to dive in and curtail wasted conjecture. You absolutely need all of this it before your normal reporting, which is always delivered far too late, provides a trailing indication of how things are going.

You wish you could determine a flexible staffing arrangement that will continue to meet your customer needs and keep your good people.

You wish you could curtail expenses and still provide the best resources and capabilities.

So, what has this got to do with giving and getting good phone? Basically, isn't a phone system the electronic equivalent of a stapler? A stapler doesn’t enhance the business or really even the document its used on . It’s a cost center, a necessary evil, much like the phone system is for many businesses.

No, there is a way to turn the junk in your trunk equipment closet into a money making, money saving device. How, you ask? I will tell you how - YOU THROW IT OUT!

What you don’t need is a PBX. What you do need is to be in control of your customer and vendor communications even if you have to change organizational structure, let staff go or move your office. You need to keep you customers confidence and you need to be flexible in the changing economic conditions.

You absolutely need to not miss calls. You absolutely need the data each and every call provides. Your need to be able to let you staff work where and when they have to. You need to be able to add and remove services and not have typical telecom contract hell doing it.

Most importantly you need to be flexible and your business tools must bend with you. Now!

You need Voice as a Service.

Online Innovations will Come with the Bad Economy

9:14 am | Jason Bland | Be the first to comment

As tech firm’s research and development budgets get reduced due to
consumer spending decreasing, we can probably expect fewer
technological advances in the near future when dealing with hardware,
phones, televisions, and gadgetry.

However, I believe that companies are going to create online
technology this year which is cheaper to develop and offers greater
profitability.

Even with Google’s stock losing half its value in the third quarter,
they have continued to develop new technology. Apple may not develop
anything as compelling as the iPhone and iPod touch, but their
applications will definitely improve and they may spend more on their
iTunes service and possibly enter the social networking arena.

I think it is obvious with the announced bankruptcy of Tribune Co.,
and the reorganizing of the New York Times, that print media is in
trouble. They don’t have the readers and the advertisers can’t afford
media that doesn’t offer better conversion. Society, both business and
consumer, is becoming on demand. Videos on demand, information on
demand, and that requires on demand advertising.

More companies are going to be shifting their marketing dollars to
the internet this year which means we can expect new online marketing
innovations. I for one am very excited about the direction search
engine optimization and social networks are going.

I say it time and again, search engine optimization
is a progressive process. If you want to access the power of that
effective marketing medium, you must act now. The work done today will
offer improvements a few months down the road to your search engine ranking.
Plus, with our new social networking management and podcasting to be
launched next year, you have the ability to get in at our pre-upgrade
pricing.

Tell me what you want in a search engine optimization company. Let’s talk and discuss your project and help you decrease marketing expenses for 2009 as we work to increase your revenue.

Reputation Management Includes Social Networks

10:47 am | Jason Bland | Be the first to comment

Social Web Sites Can Destory and Rebuild Reputations

Many reputation management
issues that we deal with start with MySpace profiles, Flickr
photographs, and Facebook faces that don’t want to be online. However,
just as these social networks can destroy a reputation, they can also
help your online reputation management.

Social networks are large sites that generally rank very well in
search engines. For example, if “John Smith” has a profile on several
social networks, chances are great that if you’Google’ John Smith, the
result in those social network profiles will come up first.

We have recently implemented social networks into our reputation management and online reputation management plans with great results.

The Cost of Not Search Engine Optimizing

10:45 am | Jason Bland | Be the first to comment

Avoiding Search Engine Optimization Can Cost Your Business

Many businesses are still not utilizing the Internet to get more
leads from their web site. This is often due to not fully understanding
the process of search engine optimization, or the value associated with it.

Currently, you have–depending on your industry – 1,000 – 10,000
searches on Google that are relevant to your company each month, and
possibly more. Based on click through rates and elimination formulas,
you are realistically missing out on 300-3,000 visitors. How much is a
client worth to you?

Designing for Conversion

If you’re web site is more than a few years old, your search engine optimization
campaign will be more effective with a new look. New design styles, web
site programming, and page formats provide a pleasant experience for
your web site visitors; as well as search engines like Google and
Yahoo. You should ask for a web design quote along with your search engine optimization quote.

Is Search Engine Optimization Expensive?

Compared to other forms of advertising such as Yellow Pages,
Newspapers, and even Pay-per-Click advertising online, search engine
optimization doesn’t come close. Search engine optimization is the most cost effective form of advertising available.

Law Firm Directory Benefits

10:38 am | Jason Bland | Be the first to comment

Several law firm directories
exist online and many customers ask if the directories are worth it–
simply put, yes. Search engines use directories to find quality web
sites. If your web site is linking to a law firm directory, it is a highly relevant link and generally from a high page ranking web site.

The cost of law firm directories varies from the higher end, such as Lawyers.com, to the affordable value added service, LawyersGuide.com,
which also allows you to hyperlink your keyphrase. For example, if you
are a “Boston Personal Injury Lawyer” you can link that phrase to your
web site, which further assists your search engine optimization effort.

The best place to start is with a value added directory like LawyersGuide and if it is successful, then invest in more expensive ones as well.

RFID FOR CONSTRUCTION SITES

11:50 am | Ashish Raichur | Be the first to comment

RFID FOR CONSTRUCTION SITES

RFID technology has several potential applications for large-scale construction projects.

Supply-chain tracking of construction materials
o provide reliable, automatic traceability of each unit of material from the point of manufacture, all the way to the point of consumption

Asset Management
o track mobiles assets, such as expensive tools and construction equipment.

Work-force tracking
A large-scale construction project will typically have a work-force numbering in the thousands. The recommended RFID technology for work-force tracking is Active Real-Time Location System (RTLS) technology, because it opens up whole new possibilities for advanced applications that enhance security, safety, and time-and-labor tracking for the entire project.

o Location of all known personnel and vehicles shown in real-time. Display information can be integrated with GIS systems to provide location in-context.  Data can be stored for later investigations or studies to improve operational efficiency.
o Automatic alerts for unauthorized access
o Tag motion detectors can use lack of motion to provide an alert if a tag is stationary for any given time, indicating that the employee is inactive, may be hurt, etc.
o can be integrated with Time & Labor Capture and the Payroll System
o In the event of an emergency, the Real-Time Location of unevacuated personnel can be determined
o Integration of the RTLS system with a “skills” database of employees would allow instant answers to questions like, “Where is the nearest welder?” or, “Quickly, find me an employee with First Aid Certification”.

....and several other benefits....
