There's a reason that this jazz show is listed in the theatre section of the Fringe programme; with nothing more than a handful of instruments and a black box space in a Portacabin, Stan Strickland creates one of the most mesmerising and inspiring pieces of autobiographical theatre this reviewer has ever seen. It's jazz-based storytelling, with all the semi-silly clichés of beatniks on bongos that implies, but give it a chance, and invest in Strickland's story, and you'll come away with an extraordinarily personal and extraordinarily powerful experience.
