About the CEO

The company's current CEO is also its founder.

The CEO is male.

The CEO does not operate the business with his spouse or partner.

The CEO was born in 1978.

Highest level of education obtained by the CEO: Some college

The greatest rewards that the CEO has experienced running his own company are:
In 1994 at the age of 16, Scott Wainner founded SysOpt.com, then shortly thereafter, ResellerRatings.com.  In 1999, he sold both sites to EarthWeb.  When EarthWeb went defunct in 2001, Scott bought ResellerRatings back from EarthWeb for pennies, and grew it from a $0/year company to a seven figure revenue company.  This process was extremely rewarding, to have a second chance to grow a business into a success.

The greatest challenges that the CEO has experienced running his own company are:

Negotiating the sale and later repurchase of ResellerRatings.com was very challenging.  Hiring a small team of independent contractors to relaunch the site, despite no funding and no revenue, took a lot of creativity and perseverance.

in 2001, Mr. Wainner also had to endure a 2 week long arbitration proceeding to resolve a dispute over payments owed to him from EarthWeb, in connection with the sale of his SysOpt/ResellerRatings business in 1999.  This took 6 months of preparation and was very challenging.

In 1998, Mr. Wainner was attending college as a Sophomore at Texas A&M University, while running the SysOpt business.  The business was taking time away from school, and visa versa, and because the business was generating $100k in annual profit, Mr. Wainner decided to leave school to pursue it, but that decision was not easy and starting and running the business while in school was a challenge.

Finally, the process of finding and securing talented independent contractors has always been a challenge.

Neither of the founder's parents owned or ran a business when he was growing up.

According to the CEO, the most important factor to the company's success is: A good idea.
