NCoder HD

The NCoder™ HD with IP Output, from the DVEO division of Computer Modules, Inc., is a very low latency high definition MPEG-2 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 transport stream encoder.  It is the first HD encoder to combine very low latency with IP output (RTP or UDP), DVB-ASI output, or simultaneous DVB-ASI and IP output, all in one system.  The normal latency mode is 120 milliseconds, and the low-delay mode is 60 milliseconds.  NCoder HD encodes 1080i, 1080p, 1080psf, or 720p HD.

 

The NCoder HD can stream HD content over IP to multiple locations, using IPTV set top boxes (STB’s) linked to HD televisions or monitors.  The NCoder HD sends IP output to the STBs, which decode it to HD. 

 

A recent customer uses the NCoder HD in a stadium to broadcast sports footage to their sky boxes and press room.  Our low latency means that there is minimal delay between the televised action and the game on the field – only 120 milliseconds.  The NCoder HD is also ideal for electronic news gathering, HD videoconferencing, HD movie previews, and military video surveillance.

eYe Catcher

The eYe Catcher is a frequency agile modulator that sends live or recorded video streams to multiple HD monitors via RF over coaxial cable.

 

The eYe Catcher is ideal for closed circuit video systems.  For example, a company exhibiting at a trade show can pull video from a computer hard drive, connect the eYe Catcher to the computer via the USB port, and transmit video simultaneously to lots of HD monitors within the exhibit via RF cabling.  Or, retailers can install one unit each at each store, send regularly updated video from a satellite feed or over IP, and have it play out on multiple HD monitors at each location.  It’s also suitable for set-top box testing and laboratory applications.

 

The eYe Catcher is available with the customer’s choice of QAM, 8VSB, or DVB-S+S2 output.  The input can be IP, USB, DVB-ASI, or SMPTE 310M, single or multi program transport streams.  The output is IP, USB, a stored transport stream, or QAM, 8VSB, or DVB-S+S2.
