ProTrials Research, headquartered in Mountain View, California, is one of only a handful of women-owned contract research organizations (CROs) in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Founded in 1996 by Jodi Andrews and Inger Arum, industry professionals well known for their previous work for companies such as Roche Pharmaceuticals, Syntex and Otsuka America, ProTrials focuses on delivering high quality research services executed by a senior-level, experienced team. Project managers have an average of 17 years of experience – unusual in an industry where junior-level associates are the norm.

ProTrials was the first CRO to manage and monitor a US-based phase III HIV vaccine trial. Today, its reputation for excellence has brought it even more challenging projects, ranging from large, multi-protocol and multi-site studies enrolling thousands of patients to smaller, more focused clinical trials with unique or difficult aspects due to the areas of study.

ProTrials has been named to the Inc. 5000 and ranked by The San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal as the 7th largest women-owned business in Silicon Valley, and became certified as a Green Business by Mountain View and Santa Clara County, California. In 2008, ProTrials obtained certification through the WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council).
