USBGA & J&J Entertainment Foundation, a Power Alliance
USBGA & J&J Entertainment Foundation, a Power Alliance Atlanta, Georgia - June 1, 2008 - The United States Black Golfers Association, Inc. (USBGA) and J&J Entertainment Foundation, Inc. (J&J) have joined forces to support a worthy cause. Both organizations along with Calvin Peete, 12-time PGA champion, will co-host the Charitable Celebrity-Am Golf Tournament & Clinic at Trump International Golf Club, an exclusive private members-only course in West Palm Beach, Florida, November 1, 2008. “Creating an alliance with J&J Entertainment Foundation, Inc. is a perfect example of how for-profits and non-profits work together for a greater good. Helping this youth-focused organization also helps USBGA to achieve its goal. We are supporting and giving back to our future, our children,” states S.E. Day, President and CEO of USBGA. “J&J Entertainment Foundation, Inc. is launching a $1 million capital campaign to acquire and renovate property for a community center servicing teens in metro Atlanta that will provide academic, arts and sports enrichment programs which are critical needs in our community. Aligning with USBGA and Trump International Golf Club will offer a strong foundation as we bring business leaders together for a spectacular weekend of networking and socializing while supporting a very worthy cause,” states John Eaton, J&J’s Board Chair. USBGA is a member-based golf organization that provides a unified, member-oriented entity, whose members could play the game of golf on a beginners, semiprofessional, and professional level. USBGA has created a dual system that mirrors the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA®) via the USBGA Championship Tour®. J&J Entertainment Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status formed in 2003 by James Rhodes and Jennifer Pasley. In 2008 J&J launched South Fulton Rocks, (SFR) a program focusing on economic development initiatives. A teen community center is the first priority for SFR.
