USBGA Launches the National Chapter Program
USBGA Launches the National Chapter Program Atlanta, Georgia – May 1, 2008 - The United States Black Golfers Association (USBGA) has launched the National Chapter Program (NCP) to support its nationwide member recruiting efforts and to set a platform by which the Association will grow to mirror that of the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA®). "Our goal is to create a dual system that matches the PGA® by creating the USBGA Tour Championship. And the way to achieve this is by expanding a national chapter platform and recruiting chapter managers in each of the Lower 48 state, the District of Columbia, and Hawaii", stated S. E. Day, President of USBGA. The NCP will begin on May 7, 2008 and initiate in the southeastern states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina and expand to the northern states and then west. The goal is to establish a minimum of 12 chapters per state mostly centered in metropolitan cities. By launching the National Chapter Program in each of the lower 48 states, the District of Columbia, and Hawaii, USBGA members will be able to compete in regional and state tournaments throughout the year. The best member-golfers will advance to compete in the USBGA National Championship, which will be a part of the USBGA Tour Championship. The USBGA is a member-oriented entity, whose members play the game of golf on a leisure, semi-professional, and professional level. The USBGA prides itself in continuing to pave the way for greater advancements and opportunities for today's minority golfers and golfers of all races and ethnicities in which to benefit. Membership into USBGA is $99 per year.
